3) How does the NGTI review process work?
NGTI’s head of acquisitions and co-productions will review the submission, looking for fit with the NGTI brand and catalogue and its potential in the international marketplace.
4) How long will the review process take?
All submissions will be reviewed and the producer responded to within six weeks from the date of submission – providing sufficient information is forthcoming. NGTI reserves the right to request further information if needed to make a decision – this may add a slight delay to the process.
5) Can I talk to someone about my idea before submitting it?
Yes. Please email your request to ideas@natgeotv-int.com and you will be contacted to discuss within seven working days – except around the time of major markets and festivals when this may be longer.
6) Where do I send DVDs etc?
Please send viewing materials and any hard copy documents you wish to submit to:
Ceire Clark
Programming & Acquisitions Executive
NGTI
Shepherds Building East (2nd Floor)
Richmond Way
London W14 0DQ - UK
or email ceire.clark@natgeotv-int.com
7) How do I get my show on the National Geographic Channel?
If appropriate, NGTI can pitch your programme to the US and International Channels. If you would prefer to go direct, all programme proposals must be submitted via http://www.natgeotv-int.comwww.ngcideas.com.
8) If I work with NGTI do I have to work with NGT- National Geographic’s in-house production company?
The simple answer is no. NGTI works with many independent producers that do not have a relationship with NGT. However, if you would value co-production with NGT then NGTI could facilitate an introduction.
9) What other benefits might there be from working with NGTI?
As a wholly-owned part of the National Geographic Society, NGTI can facilitate introductions and potential relationships with a range of businesses within the organisation – from the Channels, through to Home Entertainment, Mission Programmes and Digital Motion – our archives business. For example, producers that work with NGTI are able to access preferential rates for using footage from National Geographic’s vast archive resource: http://www.natgeotv-int.comwww.ngdigitalmotion.com
