National Geographic Television International announces today that it has acquired the entire back catalogue of programmes from Nature Conservation Films, the Dutch company that is recognised as one of the world’s leading wildlife producers.
The catalogue, which includes such blue-chip titles as THE AFRICAN KING (1 X 52), PLAYING IN SAVAGE PARADISE (1 X 52) and THE LIONESS’ TALE (1 X 25), also includes the collection from multi Emmy award winner Hugo van Lawick.
The catalogue acquisition comes a few months after NGTI started representing ELEPHANTS OF THE KILIMANJARO and THE MONKEY HUNTERS from NCF and is timely for MIPTV.
Edwina Thring, head of programmes at NGTI comments: “Elephants of the Kilimanjaro and The Monkey Hunters have been very well received in the international market, so we are delighted to have acquired a further 12 hours of top quality wildlife programming from Nature Conservation Films. There is an excellent fit with the National Geographic wildlife shows we already represent.”
Evert van den Bos, managing director of NCF comments: “NCF is very passionate about wildlife programming and NGTI is a great partner for us as they really understand our business. We are glad that we have extended our existing relationship and look forward to a successful MipTV.”
