National Geographic Television International has just signed a deal with Five to supply 13 hours of programming from the National Geographic Television & Film catalogue.
The deal, which primarily covers wildlife programming, is one of the largest packages NGTI has sold into the UK this year.
Featured programmes include new shows such as BATTLE OF THE ARCTIC GIANTS (1 X 52) and INTO THE TORNADO (1 X 52) as well as LAND OF THE ANACONDA (1 X 52); DOLPHINS: THE WILD SIDE (1 X 52) and HONEY BADGERS OF THE KALAHARI (1 X 52).
Edwina Thring, head of programmes at NGTI comments: “We have a very good relationship with Five and are pleased to have extended it through this new deal. Five has also pre-purchased our ground-breaking PREDATORS AT WAR show this year and we are hopeful that the raft of new programming coming through will also prove of interest.”
Bethan Corney, factual acquisitions executive at Five says: “Good natural history is rating well for us and we have made a commitment to air more wildlife going forward. NGTI continues to have some of the best programming in this area and we are pleased to have licensed such a strong and varied package.”
