NGTI inks major deal in Spain

Published: 18 November 2004

National Geographic Television International is pleased to announce that it has just concluded a major deal with Spanish broadcaster Forta.

The two year package deal sees Forta, via ETB, acquiring 23 hours of National Geographic Television & Film programming for this year and a minimum of a further 20 hours in 2005.

Included in the deal are the 2004 Panda Award-winning environmental series STRANGE DAYS ON PLANET EARTH (4 x 52) plus the KILLER INSTINCTS (5 x 52) series and INTO THE VOLCANO (1 x 52), as well as new programmes PREDATORS AT WAR (2 x 52), GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST (1 x 52) and BATTLE OF THE ARCTIC GIANTS (1 x 52).

Margaret Yoshida, sales executive from NGTI comments: "Forta was looking for a range of good quality factual programming for its regional channels and were very pleased with the breadth of the current NGTI offering, particularly the strong new wildlife.  We have an excellent relationship with ETB and Forta and I am delighted that this has been extended for next year."
